The search for the heroes of Wearside have returned!

Station Taxis are proud to be part of the Best of Wearside Awards which will honour the unsung heroes of our community.

Now in our 115th year of business and just clinching the Age Friendly Business of the Year Award at this year’s Sunderland Echo Portfolio Awards, we are keen to continue to support the local community.

“We are delighted to be supporting another great initiative led by the Sunderland Echo.

“Sponsoring the Child of Courage Category was important to us as it honours and recognises courageous young people in Sunderland, which is something that should be celebrated

“As Sunderland’s local taxi company, we work closely within the community with local charities, schools and community groups”

The Best of Wearside Awards officially launched today and you can put forward your own personal community favourites.

There are 10 great categories that you can nominate someone for:

  • Student of the Year
  • Fundraiser of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Sporting Achievement
  • Community Group
  • Community Champion
  • Child of Achievement
  • Child of Courage

How to Nominate:

To nominate, send:

  • Your name
  • Your address
  • Your email (if applicable)
  • The category that you wish to nominate someone for
  • The name of the person you would like to nominate
  • Their contact details (address, telephone number, email – if known)
  • to Lynn Wild by no later than 5pm on December the 30th 2016.
