Station Taxis and Samaritans of Sunderland
Station Taxis are proud to be supporting the Samaritans of Sunderland and look forward to a great partnership as we move into 2017.
There are people for whatever reason are not looking forward to Christmas, so it is an important time of year to highlight the importance of their service. The Samaritans are available to provide confidential support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress, despair or suicidal thoughts.
We have placed a Samaritans advert on one of our vehicles and also printed their advert on the back of our Station Taxis business cards to help them raise awareness.
A message from the Samaritans Sunderland:
We’re incredibly proud to have served the people of Sunderland for over 40 years. We opened in 1970 and our service is needed as much today as it was then.
Every year, we take over 10,000 calls from people going through difficult times.
Like our callers, we’re ordinary people from all walks of life so if you are interested in what we do, why not make a difference and get involved?
Keep an eye on our website samaritans.org/branches/sunderland for details on our information sessions where you can find out more about volunteering with us or make a donation towards the cost of our work – It costs us £55 per day to provide 24h cover – all donations are very gratefully received.
As a branch, we’re striving to make a difference in the community: we fundraise throughout the year to keep our building open, we reach out to local schools and we go into HM Prisons to train listeners.
You’ll find us located at Grange Crescent, a moment’s walk from Park Lane Interchange in the heart of town.
Whatever you’re going through, call us free any time, from any phone on 116 123.
If you need a response immediately, it’s best to call us on the phone. This number is FREE to call. You don’t have to be suicidal to call us.
