Since its launch a year ago, Sunderland Restaurant Week has changed the city’s food scene for the better. And now it’s coming back…
Hungering for some new places to try or eager to visit an old favourite? Get ready for the return of Sunderland Restaurant Week!
The city’s favourite foodie festival is back with a vengeance from 9-17 September, with offers galore for Sunderland’s best cafés, restaurants and bars.
And the best news is that they are all offering special menus – and special offers – showcasing their fabulous food to whet the appetites of both locals and visitors.
There’s no shortage of choices or places to visit, with the list of participants growing yet again.
Old favourites such as Asiana Fusion, Barnett’s and Angelo’s Ristorante – who were all part of the city’s first restaurant week back in September 2016 – have signed up for a third time and will be turning the spotlight on their delicious food once again.
Sunderland’s culinary scene is constantly growing – evident by the sheer variety on offer.
Relative newcomers like Papas Tapas, The Chop House at the Dun Cow, City Bistro, Grand Didyma and the recently refurbished The Peacock are also on board, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy a truly global dining experience.
There’s certainly an appetite for this event – earlier this year, more than 11,000 vouchers were downloaded for restaurant visits.
With the likelihood of more eateries joining this time round, there’s absolutely no reason not to participate – regardless of your foody tastes,
It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for pub grub, fine dining or to discover an exotic new dish, it’s the perfect excuse to try somewhere new or rediscover an old favourite.
