Driver of the Month – March 2024
🏆 𝐁𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐟𝐳𝐚𝐥🏆
We had a visit from Northumbria Police one night to make us aware of a missing 89-year-old with dementia, who had been reported missing from Glenholme House Residential Care Home in Roker and was thought to be heading towards South Shields.
Baber had just dropped off some passengers in South Shields, so he was asked if he could return via the Coast Road through Whitburn and look out for a confused elderly gentleman who was hopefully heading that way.
At the same time a description of the gentleman was sent out to the whole fleet, who were asked to look out for him.
Within ten minutes Baber contacted the office to say that he had found the gentleman, and after we informed the Police, he was instructed to return him to Glenholme House where his full family were patiently waiting for him.
As can be imagined, his family and everyone concerned were extremely relieved that he had been found and had come to no harm and were very grateful that Baber had gone out of his way to look for him
