Christmas cabpool karaoke

A Sunderland taxi firm has been inspired by the popular Late Late Show segment, which has featured A-list celebrities.

Station Taxis has created their own festive version of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke which is watched by millions of people online.

After the success of their first CabPool Karaoke series earlier this year, Station Taxis has once again given customers the opportunity to stretch their vocal cords in one of their vehicles in a new Christmas Special.

Customers voted for their favourite Christmas Song on social media, and the song that was chosen for the video was the festive classic ‘Merry Christmas Everybody’ by British rock band Slade.

It features taxi driver Rob Berry, who starred in the last CabPool Karaoke series.

Rob, who has worked for the company for over 20 years, said: “Everyone loved the last one, so we had to do it again! It’s all about having a laugh and spreading the Christmas cheer.

“Christmas is our busiest time of year, so it was good to get into the festive spirit with our customers and special guests”

The video features West End star Josh Andrews and Dick’n’Dom’s Richard McCourt who are starring in this years Sunderland Empire panto Peter Pan, which starts on 14th December.

“We are delighted to support Station Taxis with this festive CabPool Karaoke and it is great that our panto cast have been able to add some extra sparkle to the video. As we all know, Peter Pan is the story of the boy who never grew up and it looks like Josh and Richard had lots of fun filming, we look forward to seeing the local reaction to the video!”

Other contributors included Megan Bamborough, from ‘Show off Hair and Beauty’ in Roker who “loved it” and said that “it had put her in such a good mood!”.
