Wheel of Fives

As a sponsor of this years Sunderland Illuminations, we felt like we had to go and try out the Big Wheel for ourselves!

The Illuminated Observation Wheel has once again been a big hit with everyone visiting the Illuminations at the seafront, and is one of the events favourites for kids and adults alike.

As the Illuminations come to an end tomorrow night, we felt that we needed to see what the views of Seaburn and Roker are like from the top of the wheel.

So on this beautiful Friday morning (we were lucky with the weather!) our drivers and staff braved the cold and went up 120ft high to hold the famous fives in their carriages! A huge thanks to Bobby from the VUE Giant Wheel for making this possible!

This is not the only initiative that we have come up with to help promote the Sunderland Illuminations, we also have our Illuminated Taxi which will stay lit up until tomorrow night.

“We are proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Sunderland Illuminations which have proved to be bigger, better and more popular than before

They fabulous display of lights and the amazing features in Roker Park have attracted families in their thousands to the twin resorts of Roker and Seaburn.

Sunderland City Council, Sunderland Live and everyone else involved deserves to be congratulated for putting on such an outstanding event.”
